Fruit Tree Grafting
Graftage is the joining of a scion (bud or shoot) of the desired fruit tree cultivar to a plant with an established root system (rootstock). Knowledge of graftage is necessary for nurserymen and fruit tree producers. It is also a great hobby for backyard gardeners. During this hands-on workshop, our guest presenter, Stacy White, will demonstrate the best procedures for completing a successful graft. Stacy White is an Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Whitley County.
Notes - Apple and pear rootstock can be ordered at the Laurel County Extension Office for $2 each. Call 864-4167 to place your order.
